We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with sales experience and a background in life sciences or engineering to join our sales and applications team. The ideal candidate for this position possesses excellent technical and communications skills. The candidate will be able to understand the needs of researchers specializing in cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological research, help them develop customized solutions, and communicate the value of our line of high-tech physiological data acquisition & analysis instruments.

Working as an emka Sales & Application Specialist, you have outstanding people and organizational skills, and a desire to work in a small business environment with a focus on cutting-edge technology.

Primary responsibilities / 主な役割

Establishing and maintaining customers relations in life sciences laboratories;
Understanding customer needs throughout and following the entire sales process;
Participating in the complete sales cycle;
Providing installing and training on-site or via video conferences;
Representing and promoting emka products at international conferences;
Frequently traveling across Japan to meet customers and prospects.

You Possess… / 必要な経験など

An interdisciplinary education that combines Life Sciences, Engineering or a related field;
A customer focused mindset with a solid understanding of value proposition selling;
A desire to foster long term relationships with customers;
Sales experience with scientific research equipment or related medical field;
The ability to rapidly learn highly technical information in a dynamic work environment;
A talent for explaining technical details in comprehensible terms;
The ability to work efficiently, both independently and in a team;
Effective networking skills across disciplines and cultures.

Education Qualifications – 教育・資格

Essential – 必須：

Successful completion of a University degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or a related degree;
Familiarity with the scientific research process (grant applications, conferences, publications);
Native level Japanese language communication skills;
English language skills (written and spoken).

ライフサイエンスやエンジニアリングまたは隣接学問での大学卒業資格
科学研究の手続（研究費申請、学会、出版）に精通していること
日本語は母国語レベルでのコミュニケーションがはかれること
英語は読み書き及び会話でのコミュニケーションができること

Assets – 望ましい学歴など:

Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or preclinical Life Sciences;
Knowledge of animal physiology, cardiovascular and respiratory mechanics;
Prior technical sales or after-sales experience.

バイオケミカルエンジニアリングやプレクリニカルライフサイエンスでの修士号
動物生理学や循環器、呼吸機能に関する知識
テクニカルセールスやアフターセールスの経験
