The goal of this workshop is to teach registrants how to perform rodent surgeries according to good laboratory practice standards. In addition, registrants will also learn how to collect reliable blood flow and / or blood pressure data using solid-state pressure sensors in blood vessels of your choice. This program is tailored to the wishes of the attendee, so please let us know what you wish to learn, and we will create a custom program.
An optional extra day is also offered to provide attendees with an opportunity to learn how to introduce a myocardial infarction through ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD), or to induce left ventricle hypertrophy by transverse aortic constriction (TAC).
Who should attend
This course is designed for scientists and technicians who are both new to rodent pressure-volume recording techniques as well as those who are experienced and wish to refine their techniques. While the course language will be English, the course instructors are also versed in Dutch, German and French. Therefore, one-to-one instruction can take place in multiple languages.
